In 1899, New York got it’s news from the army of ragged orphans and runaways called Newsies. They sold newspapers for the giants of the industry like Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst. Like many of his friends, Jack Kelly dreams of a better life far away from the hardships of the streets. But when Pulitzer and Hearst raise distribution prices at the Newsies expense, Jack leads the weak and oppressed to find strength to band together to challenge the powerful.

What follows is toe tapping inspirational songs that will leave you feeling hopeful.
