Audition Dates: June 23rd & 24th 12-3
Performance dates: August 24th – September 16th
We ask that you bring a headshot and resume (if you do not have one that is fine but it is encouraged), and prepare sixteen bars (or about 1 Minute) of a song that either shows off a classic Broadway style or you can sing a song from the show. Also, there will be a dance portion of the audition, prepare accordingly. Please be aware our auditions can take up to 30 minutes to finish the full process. There will be a pianist for accompaniment. Those planning on auditioning should bring their own music, but some music from the show can be provided if needed.The show runs August 24th-September 16th. Most rehearsals will be weekday evenings from 7 – 10 but some weekends may be needed as well. All roles are available. Also prepare to dance (feel free to bring a change of clothes there will be space and time to change if needed. A cold reading of a character may also be requested during the audition.
An old man and father to Hero and husband to Domina.
Age: 45 to 70
Senex’s wife. A shrewish woman who dominates to the point of answering herself the questions she asks of others. Loves her husband deep down, but is outwardly controlling, demanding, and manipulative.
Age: 40 to 50
The young son of Senex and Domina. He falls in love with Philia and agrees to give Pseudolus his freedom if he can help Hero woo her. Practical, privileged, romantic.
Age: 20 to 30
The chief slave in the House of Senex. Believes he is in control, but is actually Pseudolus’ puppet to carry out his schemes. Anxious, conservative, loyal. He desperately wants everything to be in order.
Age: 40 to 55
Narrator and a Roman slave, owned by Hero, who seeks to win his freedom by helping his young master win the heart of Philia. Quick-witted, scheming, childlike spirit.
Age: 30 to 50
An old man, searching for his lost children.
Age: 45 to 70
The archetype of the braggart soldier. A captain in the Roman army to whom Marcus Lycus has promised Philia. Commanding, boastful, manly and strong.
Age: 25 to 35
The owner of the house of Courtesans. Always out to make a profit, but also wants to provide good on what his business offers.
Age: 40 to 50
A virgin in the House of Lycus whom we also find out is Erronius’ daughter. She is promised to Miles and vows to give him bodily what he has paid for, but loves Hero and promises he will always have her heart. Young, pretty, devoted. An archetypal ingénue.
Age: 18 to 21
